This is not the first time Facebook has tried to overtake tiktok. In 2018, the company created an imitation product called Lasso, which can be used as a stand-alone application. However, the app was discontinued last month. Tiktok, on the other hand, has been growing. Sensor tower, a third-party research firm, estimates that the video sharing app has been downloaded more than 2 billion times.
